I like to do studies of the local farm animals, always out researching new images to work from. I also do a few commissioned portraits of peoples pets-mostly dogs of course.

I try to do at least one cow and one sheep portrait every year, usually more. Recently I've been using oils but pastels are particularly good for doing the detail of wool and hair. Here are a couple of earlier works.
